Uncover artifacts in stories

e.g. an evil stepmother, a cliffhanger, an extended metaphor, a historic reference, a style device …

Specialists at Unbound Concepts get paid by publishers to create artifacts for everyone to see. However, users can create an account and put their own artifacts on books, as well.
The artifacts that we create for publishers are reviewed by them. We also offer “helpfulness voting” so that users can identify whether they think an artifact is helpful or not.
Not really. In 1952, Mortimer Adler published A Synopticon: An Index to the Great Ideas. The volumes contained bibliographic references to 100 great ideas within 400 or so great books.

We like Adler’s idea, but we feel that we’ve improved on it significantly.
